Story:

In 1977 Burton moved to Londonberry, Vermont in order to produce his first Burton Snowboard.  The first snowboards that he made were in his garage by hand, although he couldn’t afford to buy the proper tools.  The next year, Burton moved to Manchester, Vermont.  Jake, along with 4 or 5 of his friends, sold, shaped, built, and repaired the boards that were previously made.  His early boards were constructed from bentwood laminate and had a fixed binding that held the rider’s boots tightly to the board.

Story:

Thirty Two has been making snowboard boots and outerwear since their establishment in 1995. Created by snowboarders for snowboarders and they have been since day one.

Thirty Two has been a leader in the snowboard boot market, pushing out never before seen innovations in technology, performance and comfort. They also use eco-friendly material to help look after the environment.

These boots were made for shredding and that’s just what they’ll do. The Thirty Two team is one of the best snowboard teams around, with all of their riders having an appetite for freestyle performance. Thirty Two have an incredible team of limit-breaking freestyle riders like Scott Stevens, Chris Grenier and Chris Bradshaw. They also have all time snowboarding greats JP Walker and Simon Chamberlain on the team. All Thirty Two products and accessories are tested and approved by their team of top riders who ride Thirty Two boots day in, day out.

Thirty Two are owned by Sole Technology, a true action sports brand who also own Etnies skate shoes. Footwear is their thing, so the research and design from the skate shoe companies is infused into the Thirty Two snowboard boots. Sole Technology has its own research facility called the STI Lab, they don’t research sexually transmitted infections so they can’t help you with that rash, but they can help make you a boot that is the pinnacle of footwear science. Seriously they have proper academic researchers working on things like the “kinetic analysis of snowboard jump landings” and “tibial acceleration during snowboard jumping”.
