At first, I was a freestyle snowboarder actually. In 2013 a friend of mine introduced me to a fairly new sport at that time called wakeboarding. The year that followed I did a combination of both, one week we went snowboarding the other week we went wakeboarding. Soon after that I skipped the snowboarding part and I went wakeboarding every single weekend, for six years already!
A Friday evening at The Spin cable park. Picture perfect: sunset wakeboard session on a hot summer day. I had lots of fun with everyone there and we ended with buds & booze at a cosy camp fire. Who doesn’t like that? Our recent West Site teamday at Lakeside was also super fun. Good vibes only with homies sharing what we love: wakeboarding.
Mostly foreign riders... Pedro Caldas from Hyperlite and Jules Charraud from Ronix are the two riders that inspire me the most right now. I watch a lot of videos of these guys and doing so it gives me inspiration on taking certain obstacles in whole other way, a way that I would probably never have come up with. I save those videos and right before the wake sesh I watch ‘em again to try and learn those crazy lines they manage to land. I find my inspiration from foreign riders mostly because I don't want to land or copy tricks that riders here in Belgium are doing already, you gotta stand out you know. (chuckles)
