Vans x WTAPS Hi-Country & Hell-Bound boot is a blend of polyester and textile, the upper has a strap closure in addition to an inner lining for added comfort. Ultracush midsole, embossed branding seen throughout with printed insole for additional dimension. As well as treaded rubber outsole for a wrapped-up aesthetic.
Founded by Tetsu Nishiyama in 1996, WTAPS is a legend of the ‘Ura-Hara’ Japanese scene that produced so many distinguished streetwear labels. Tetsu’s background in skate – and an abiding interest in mil-spec styling – has long made him a favourite at Vans, where he has contributed over 15 co-branded collections. Following the release of a footwear-focused range earlier in 2022 that included bones-motif Chukkas and Eras, Vault by Vans will drop this WTAPS-designed collection of snowboard boots, bags, apparel and accessories decked out in utilitarian ‘smokey olive’ khaki.

Knowing Tet grew up skating, the extension beyond footwear seemed obvious and luckily he agreed! The Vans Snow program dates back more than 25 years, though these rugged Hi-Country & Hell-Bound LX snow boots have all the latest Vans tech, including V3 Ultracush protection, TNF FlashDry liner, V3 POPCUSH footbeds and V3 Waffle SuperEnduro outsoles.
